| Reviews
can be as short as you like - just a few sentences - or up
to 960 characters (about two short paragraphs). Here are two
sample reviews of the same book/film. The first one, I
wrote. It is simple and tells what the book and/or film
means to me. The second review was taken form Amazon.com
- which is more detailed and the reviewer goes into more
details. Both are acceptable. As you can see from both
examples, they were written by two average women in a plain,
straightforward and honest manner. Just be yourself when
writing a review - and enjoy it!
EXAMPLE
1:
Directed by Steven
Spielberg, this is a wonderful film that I have watched
many times. Every time brings a new meaning and is a
testimonial to the strength of a woman's spirit. FYI:
Whoopi Goldberg was introduced to us in this film. Review
written by Nancy Imelda Schafer.
EXAMPLE
2:
Magnificent! The characters
undergo human metamorphosis like I've never seen before!
Every character is fully developed and each one plays a
significant role. From the beginning Celie has your
sympathy, but by the end pride and joy are all you can
feel for her. (You'll have to read the book to find out
why!) This book, however, should not be read by children
who cannot handle the depictions of sexual and physical
abuse. I don't want to give too much away, so here's one
last statement: If you like novels with realistic,
riveting plots; characters you feel like you've known for
years; historical significance; and an amazingly human
depiction of the ever present hope in life (even in a
society ruled by injustice) then log out and race to your
nearest book store! Review
written by Alice Walker.
I have chosen the second
review to show EXACTLY what your review will look like
online.
