Please
read the few submission guidelines below:
If
you are either a an accepted member of
PhenomenalWomen.com OR are participating on one of the
many webrings of PhenomenalWomen.com, you are eligible to
write articles about your subject in the Community.
Articles are open to both women and men to write and
submit to the Communities. If you are in several
webrings, please feel free to submit articles for as many
webrings (different subjects) as you like. The articles in
the Community of PhenomenalWomen.com are directly related
to both the webrings
and Profiles
of PhenomenalWomen.com. The
Communities will eventually have the same 28 categories as
the Profiles.
Each and every category (subject) of articles will have a webring
associated with it. If you are not a member of the ring
associated with that category, you are highly encouraged
to join that ring - but it is not a requirement to write
and submit an article.
Keep
the article relevant ONLY to the particular subject you are writing
about. The article is designed to inform the person reading the subject you are writing about.
Remember, there is a direct link to your email and website
in your article so the visitor reading your article is
only one click away from going to your site so you don't
have to load your article down with links back to your
site. Please remember, if you do point to links on
your site, if the links change or are removed, please fix
them in your article to keep traffic coming to your site
from the article. Once your article is online in the
Communities, you can edit it at any time!!!!
Your article can be up to 9,000 characters (INCLUDING
SPACES) characters long – which is roughly 1,589 words
long.
That is a gracious length. Please remember to use
paragraph breaks (the space that separates one paragraph
from another. You create a paragraph break by hitting the
ENTER/RETURN key 2 times. Under no circumstances should
the text in your article be one big, long, blob of text
with no paragraph breaks. Please spell check your work
when you are finished. Please DO NOT enter HTML in the
form or any field at any time.
This is what 9,000 characters looks
like. At this time, graphics are not accepted in the
article, but in the near future, there will be. You will
be sent a letter to add graphics to your article(s) if you
desire. SPELL CHECK IS A MUST. Articles
that are full of typos and misspelled words will be deleted.
What
can I write about, how do I write it?
Anything
that is relevant to your subject. For example, how your
subject influences your life, the techniques involved in
your subject, how long it takes to learn this subject, why
you like this subject, how long you have been involved
with this subject and the steps it took to get where you
are with it, recommendations to visitors about this
subject, how others might benefit from your subject, etcetera.
Stick to talking about the subject - your expertise in the subject - facts
that people can take away with them about your subject. Here
is an article that is online now, it is in the
category of Abuse
& Domestic Violence. This is how your article will
be formatted when written. Please note, the Community is
not 'officially' online yet. As more categories are
created, the site will launch out. Expected launch date:
September-October 2002.
All
information (except your username) can be edited by you at
anytime you wish. If you no longer want your article(s)
online, it is your responsibility to delete them. Just
login to your account and delete them. Remember, if you
make a mistake, you can edit ANYTHING. If you mess up,
don't submit another one - just login to the article and
correct it.
Be
sure you have read the submission information above thoroughly
before entering in your article. Please read the Website
User Terms thoroughly before you submit. If you have
questions, please
write.
