April's Place was started because I wanted to post my writings on-
line. Since I had displayed some of my better poetry, I thought I
should move on to another topic of interest, the sciences. I spent
much time researching the geosciences and astronomy and was taken
aback by the amount of information I had aquired. By this point, the
site was starting to get quite large which pushed me even harder into
discovering other parts of myself that I thought would be of interests
to others on the Internet. I moved on to music and decided to
"spotlight" my favorite group, Duran Duran but I didn't stop there. I
moved on to Depeche Mode, Milton Nascimento, and Antonio Jobim. Over
the course of time, I had developed a nice collection of fonts (over
1000) and thought it might be fun to add 101 of my favorite fonts to
the site. After the fonts, and once I got a scanner, I added pictures,
pictures, pictures. I have pictures of my family and pictures of the
places I've been. From there, I moved on to my treasured postcard
collection. I have been collecting since I was about 10 years old but
my most prized cards are from my great-great grandmother. The older
cards date back to 1910 and 1911. Once this was all said and done, I
thought it would be nice to recognize other sites by awarding them
with awards that I had created. This site has been very fulfilling,
time consuming, and FUN. I love working on the computer and developing
a place that just might inspire someone in some small way.
