Why I
created The Phenomenal Women Of The Web Artistic Expression
Seal
It has come to pass
recently, that a former The Phenomenal Women Of The Web
member, has gone on a one person campaign to question the
contents of Spyder's Empire. She e-mailed most of The
Phenomenal Women Of The Web directing them to a page on her
site. She put a site wide blanket statement of
Spyder's Empire on the page that said; (direct quote)
"It is my opinion that Spyder's Empire is not a family
friendly site."

It was a very narrow,
single minded statement that is bordering on slander.
Against the advice of my lawyer, who suggested I bring a
slander suit against her, and place a cease and desist order
against that page she wrote about Spyder's Empire until the
case could be heard in court, I have chosen to create The
Phenomenal Women Of The Web Artistic Expression Seal. I
wanted the recognition of all The Phenomenal Women Of The
Web sites to be accepted without the fear of a woman like
this attacking another beautiful site, because she cannot
see beyond her own judgmental nose.
In making the accusations
against Spyder's Empire, she has completely discredited and
made null and void all of the outstanding help, good and
positive results that are coming from The
Phenomenal Women of The Web - Against Domestic Violence
and The
Phenomenal Women of The Web Resource Network. Many women
have been helped by the above divisions of TPWOTW, and the
slander must stop. In addition, in throwing a bad light on
Spyder's Empire, she has also discredited all of the sites
that are participating Phenomenal Women Of The Web. There
are many ways to go about stating your case against ones
actions, but this woman has put a site wide blanket on every
area within Spyder's Empire claiming that it is; (direct
quote) "...not a family friendly site."
My website is a very
complex and detailed site. Here is the opening
page of Spyder's Empire. I challenge any woman on the
web to create a site like mine that has the depth appeal to
all persons. Not that there is anything spectacular about
Spyder's Empire. But the depth of content and the complexity
of the sites I have created within Spyder's Empire, will
appeal to so many, women and men equally. It has the
diversity of the world within it. As the sole proprietor of
Spyder's Empire, I will not be made to feel bad or guilty
about any of the elements that make up my site. As a result,
I have created The Phenomenal Women Of The Web Artistic
Expression seal.
Within
Spyder's Empire, I have placed these seals which
identify a site as having sensitive material. To
those who say their children are still not safe,
because they will click there anyway, I say look to
yourselves as their parent. They
are a product of you and your teaching. It is up
to YOU<------- to teach and guide your children.
I have done all I can do in being the police of my
site AND the women who comprise The Phenomenal Women
Of The Web. It is YOUR<------ turn now. So let
the finger pointing stop right here.

It is so sad to consider,
that we as women, who are living in a modern, free society,
are still made to jump through hoops by the few who can view
a work of art, or even the seal of The Phenomenal Women Of
The Web and turn their child's head away calling it
pornography. Yes, there have been women who have labeled the
cherub on The Phenomenal Women Of The Web seal pornographic.
