I am a happily married woman with a thirteen year old son. I have an
accounting background and now work from home for my husband part time.

I have had several health issues affect my life and which have pushed
me into making changes in my lifestyle. After taking charge of the
situation, and with the support of those around me, I have been able
to make the adjustments necessary and am a better person for it. I
enjoy helping others with similar problems and perhaps one day will
pursue a career in that area.

I am currently the SCC (School Community Council) chairperson at my
son's school. I am also a volunteer instructor of a specialized
aquatic exercise program for the Arthritis Society. Additionally, our
entire family volunteers in a major hockey tournament (The Timmy Tyke
Tournamnet in Toronto) to help raise funds for the children of the
Easter Seal Society in Ontario.

My hobbies include folk art, crafts in general and reading.

Our family strives to balance work with play and maintain high moral
standards. My favourite time of day is when the whole family bundles
up and takes the dog for her walk together. It is quality time to get
in touch with each other.

Family and friends take priority in our lives. Sharing with others
through good times and bad brings us closer together. We have had two
major losses in our family this past year (my father-in-law and my
stepfather) and have learnt to take one day at a time and appreciate
what we have every day.

I consider myself blessed in many ways and look forward to sharing my
thoughts, hopes and dreams with other women in this selected group.
