I am a 43 year old mother of 6 who was divorced and started over on
ther own after 17 years of marriage. I moved myself and my 6 children
home to Utah from North Carolina and with a lot of love and support
from family and friends, went to work full-time for the first time
since before my marriage. My children ranged in age from 16 to 3 yr
old twins at the time. Through this experience and the love of God
and family and friends, I discovered strengths and depths in myself
that I never knew I had.
My two oldest children went through a really hard time and turned
temporarily to drugs and alcohol to cover the pain but they have since
found their way back and are wonderful, healthy responsible adults who
I am proud to say are also my friends!
I have remarried the most wonderful man who loved me enough to take
on my 6 children and who loves and supports all of us in a way that I
thought only existed in fairy tales! He is the greatest husband in
the world and I feel so grateful and blessed every day that God
brought him into our lives. My children call him dad and he truly
is. He had given up hope of having a real family.
I still work full time as a Certified Network Engineer. My sweet
unselfish husband insisted that I go to school for a year to earn my
certification because of my love and fascination with computers and
during that year he supported all of us himself.
We have three boys left at home and are now living in Reinholds,
Pennsylvania in a warm and cozy home on almost 2 acres in the country.
The children are happy and well adjusted and have never thought of
themselves as victims, but blessed to have two mommies and two daddies
who all love them so very much.
My latest blessing is a beatiful, angel baby granddaughter who will
soon be turning 2. She is the love of my life and I must say that
being a grandmother is even more that everyone told me it would be!!
I am proud to be a woman and so grateful for all the wonderful people
in my life that have helped me to get to where I am today!
