My name is Carol (Vierra)Morris. I was born January 24,1947 in
Providence, R. I. I have lived in Newport, R.I. since I was 21 years
old. My husband and I have a combined family of 6 (4 girls, 2 boys).
We also have 12 grandchildren (5 girls, 7 boys). I own my own business
in downtown Newport, it's a retail store for nautical items, and it is
called "Captain's Locker". I also help my husband with his 2 business
websites, captlocker.com and bosonlocker.com.
My passions right now are fighting for a dog park in the city of
Newport, trying to force Wal-Mart out because of their policy to sell
guns (they open in Newport tomorrow and I will be picketing), and the
Island Land Trust, trying to preserve open land on Aquidneck Island.My
e-mail address shows my concern for animals, I have 2 dogs, Angus a 4
1/2year old lab mix, Bailey a 3 year of German Shepard, and a 10 year
old cat named Snowflake.
I am a member of the Sierra Club, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary,
Doris Day- Friends of Animals, the National Humane Education Soceity,
and the Potter League for Animals (which is our local animal shelter).
I am the Vice President of the Aquidneck Dog Owners Group (A.D.O.G.),
a group which I helped to establish 2 years ago!
