As a young mother, trying to complete a PhD, I find the support of
other women in particular to be central to my motivation to continue.
Obviously, my daughter, Ali, is the focus-point of my life at the
moment, and it is primarily for her that I wish to achieve. Also,
studying in a male-dominated environment (Mathematics) it is sometimes
difficult to strike up friendships with empathetic others.

I am at the moment, going through a bad patch with the men in my life,
and have decided, both for my self and Ali's sake, to do without
romantic fuflifment for the time being. My hope is that, through
becoming a phenomenal woman of the web, I will be able to make contact
with other women, not necessarily those in a similar position to me,
but just some other people to talk to and listen to. As you may
imagine, being alone with a young daughter does limit the amount of
sensible conversation I can become involved with!
