Hi I'm Monique,
Im thirty-two, I have three children, ages 11,5 and 4. How I got
to this place is my life story. The first 17 years are kind of a blur
of memories. At 17 I was a young waitress who spotted a new cook.
Sparks flew and next thing you knew I was uprooting myself and
starting a new life in a new part of the country. Then the years
just passed so quickly married at age 20...first baby(a beautiful boy)
at age 21...five years later and a husband climbing the corporate
ladder and two states later and baby #2(a baby girl), then next thing
I new....
A day that would change my life forever, Christmas day 1996, with
a one,two and eight year old...my husband says.."Im not
happy"...really Im thinking.. neither am I...staying up half the night
with babies,gaining all that weight,new state,small apartment...
.....two years later and a $10,000 lawyer bill, Im living in a new
state..to be near the parents(a mixed blessing in and of itself), and
raising three children on my own.
Its been a long ride so far many ups and many downs...my kids have
survived and perservered better than I ever could have imagined..they
see Dad every other weekend..Im able to stay home with them....and
being the best mother I can...sometimes doing wonderfully and
sometimes failing miserably..but every day I awake to beautiful
children and that makes me feel lucky.
But, Im much more than a divorced single mother of three...Im a
dreamer,I want so much. I want to finish that degree, I want a career,
I want a beautiful home, a new car......a lifelong mate.
I am a work in progress...trying to find the path to accomplish
all those dreams and the ones I haven't yet dreamed.
I will keep trying...one dream was to bring my kids to Disney
World...Im going to drive two days to bring them for two days and then
relax on the beach.
Maybe on that beach is where Ill find where the path lies...like
a childs footprints in the sand....
