I am the mother of 4 very good people. 2 sons and 2 daughters. I am
the grandmother of 3 special little boys. I have been a stay at home
mother. I never regretted it for a moment. I never had any desire to
have a career. I have no problem with those women who do want to work
outside the home as long as the children are given a good
upbringing.Ibelieve that there are many ways to raise a family. Each
family must decide which is best for themselves.
I was the middle child in my family, being placed between an older
brother and a younger sister. I think that has helped me to be strong.
My oldest grandson calls me "a tough woman" I am not hard, but, I
think I can be tough when needed. I believe I inherited that trait
from my mom. She was one of the original "Rosie the Riveters" during
W.W.2. A wonderful woman and an example for her daughters and
granddaughers.
I love my husband and family, college basketball, especially the
Kentucky Wildcats. I am active in my church and volunteer as a driver
for "Meals on wheels" I love music, birds, gardening, traveling,
genealogy research,eating out, my friends and my church. I have been
blessed with good health.
As for troubles in my life, I have had very few. I have been blessed.
Yes, my father died sooner than I would have wished and have missed
him, however, I have wonderful memories of him. Mom died at 90, so I
had her for many years and enjoyed our later years together. We were
able to become friends as equals as well as mother and daughter. I
enjoy my friendship with my sister Jo. My brother Ken died a few years
ago.My husband and I both enjoy good health and also enjoy doing some
of the same activities. I guess that I am just an ordinary woman, but,
I think that I do the best that I can everyday. I always told the kids
that, all anyone can expect of them is that they do their best in each
thing that they do. We should never expect any less of ourselves or
others. On the other hand, we should be forgiving of each other. Life
is much too short to hold on to hurts and grudges.
