There were no ads whatsoever in the books when they debuted in 1998 and they are still no ANNOYING ADS & SPAM FREE!!!!! And you certainly do not have to pay extra for it!!!!! 

With all of that said... one of the biggest advantages of being an Epitome of a Phenomenal Woman member is the Official Guestbook of the Phenomenal Women Of The Web.  ONLY PhenomenalWomen.com members are eligible to have this book on their site. They are not available to anyone outside of the PhenomenalWomen.com organization. Each book is hosted and resides on the server of PhenomenalWomen.com. There are no complicated codes to place in your pages - just one single link that takes you the the beautiful opening page that has links to both the Sign & View pages of your book! The books have been completely redesigned and changed from the first version that debuted in 1998. They are packed with features that are a must for a guestbook today! To better let you see every aspect of the book, just click on the links and you will be able to see what is being described. The features are:

SIGN & VIEW PAGES:

• 7 beautiful different opening pages to choose from that announce you are an accepted member of the Phenomenal Women Of The Web.
  View the styles: 1  |  2  |  3  |  4  |  5  |  6  |  7.
• The ability to have your guest leave a "private message" that only you can view. When you click on the private message screen, you will be asked to login to your book to view the private message.
• COOL FEATURE: When a guest signs your book, they have the option to refer a friend to your site with an email message. All they have to do is click the dot, enter in the friend's email address and a message will be sent to the person specified letting them know your site is worth a visit. All this happens when they click the enter button at your book. There is nothing more for them to fill out!
• Need the code for your guestbook? This is funny!
• The visitor has the ability to preview their message first before adding it to the live book.
• You can opt to have a email sent to you notifying you that someone has just signed your book - AND - the whole message they sent you will be in the mail too! You don't even have to go to your book to view it. If you want to go to your book, there are links in the mail that will take you directly to either your "View" page, "Private Message" login page, or to login to your "Administration Area."
• Each entry is marked with its entry number in the book and carries the date and time the entry was left.

ADMINISTRATION AREA, FEATURES AND CONFIGURABLE OPTIONS:

Each book can be customized by you to operate and function exactly how you like it. The features are:

• Login to your full administration area - that is EASY to work with and understand... the first time around. There are lots of features, but you don't have to know rocket science to get the book configured! I have had programs that could do really wonderful things, but the user docs were written in a language that I sure didn't understand so the program did not get used. I am frustrated by hard to understand directions... and you will NOT find that here.
• Configure to allow/disallow HTML options for entries left in your book
• Choose to have an email notification letter sent to you when someone signs your book
• Modify every element of your personal info (except for your username)
• View the number of entries and the number visitors that have viewed your book (look for the numbers on the right side of the admin panel).
• Delete entries, ban email and IP addresses from leaving entries in your book A great feature to deter foul-mouthed trouble makers.
• You can add/change the bad word filtering for entries left in your book (another way to combat foul-mouthed trouble makers). You can actually replace the foul word the person used with one of your own, or choose to have any form of the word deleted.
• Send an email (at one time) to all the visitors that signed your book. NOTE: spam mail is not tolerated with this feature. Abuse of this feature will result in loss of all membership within PhenomenalWomen.com.
