Frequently
Asked
Questions
1.) Question - Why is
there so much information to fill out to submit a page?
Answer - Each search
engine loves information. The more - the better. Keywords
are a crucial part of search engines, the title of your
page, even the name of the URL plays an important role in
how search engines find you on the internet. Taking a few
minutes now to fill out the information - correctly - will
pay you dividends in hits later.
2.) Question - Why do
you recommend a "secondary" e-mail address?
Answer - Again - one of
the things search engines demand is information. It is a
double edged sword here in this case. When you submit a
page to a search engine, they collect the
"e-mail" address that you specify. And you
guessed it... they send mountains of "thank-you for
submitting" letters back to you. So, if you utilized
a "secondary" e-mail address, and use that as
your e-mail contact info for Phenomenal
Hits!, your
regular e-mail mailbox will not be full of thank you
letters. I recommend a free mail service such as Hotmail,
YAHOO!
Mail, etc.
2b.) Question - I did
not specify a secondary address and used my primary address
when I submitted my site, and now, my inbox is filled to the
gills with junk mail from the search engines. How can I stop
this?
Answer - There is nothing
Phenomenal
Hits! can do
about this. This is why when you were entering the info
for your site, there was an option to use another email
address for your submissions... and also there is a link
to this page, explaining why you SHOULD
use a secondary mail. Once they have your email address,
they have it, and we can do nothing about it. Once a
submission is entered from the information you originally
signed up with, it cannot and will not be changed.
3.) Question - Don't
some search for text and not meta tags?
Answer - Yes, this is true. But
all search engines have a better chance of finding you
when you have utilized a search engine submittal service
and/or program.
4.) Question - In the
product description, you state: "over 990,000+ of them-
and new search engines are added frequently." What does
this mean?
Answer - Every time a page is
submitted to a search engine, the sophisticated software
of Phenomenal
Hits! checks the internet for any
search
engines of FFA lists that are new. They are then added to
the database of over 990,000.
5.) Question - What the
heck is a FFA list?
Answer - FFA stand for Free For All
lists. These are lists of sites that have links on their
pages advertising other websites. Some have descriptions of
the listed sites, others do not. But there are plenty of
them out there to really make it a worthwhile endeavor.
6.) Question - How do I
know what pages of my site to have submitted?
Answer - The best rule of thumb
would be to use ALWAYS your opening page (index.html), and
any menu pages you might have, and then all of the opening
pages to sections in your site (see examples).
- Example 1 - if
you have a part of your site that has your poetry in it,
use that opening page.
- Example 2 - if you have a
section of your site that is a photo journal of your
family, use that opening page to your photo journal
- Example 3 - if you have a business site, use the
main pages of each product or overall product menu page.
7.) Question - I don't
want to pay by credit card, can I write a check or send a
money order?
Answer - Sorry - no. Only
VISA, MasterCard, Discover/Novus or American Express are
accepted via a secure server. You can also use PayPal
for your purchase!
8.) Question - I am not
a member of the PWOTW, can I still purchase Phenomenal
Hits! service?
Answer - Yes - this
service is open to all individuals both personal or
business websites.
9.) Question - I am the
webmaster of a site that contains adult XXX rated material, can I still purchase Phenomenal
Hits! service?
Answer - Absolutely
not!
