"Prisoner"
Alone
I sit in prison.
Bricks and bars
do surround.
Dark is my sunlight;
blind is my night.
Alone I sit in prison.
Time and torment
both abound.
Years have no power;
meaningless is the hour.
My body is my prison.
In blood and bone
I'm bound.
Banished to my mind,
I find myself confined.
My body is my prison
and far from me my
love is found.
Distant she does dwell;
highways frame my cell.
Released from my prison;
Joy and freedom
I have found.
Nothing between us lies;
in my arms she sighs.
