"Practical
Feminism"
You
are still strong, still invincible
despite being the one
who will always do the cleaning.
Your toddler's eyes
will always see the goddess,
despite the fact that you
just never will be cool.
And if you never do wear purple,
at least you think for yourself.
You are woman, we are woman
even when Helen Reddy
seems overly optimistic,
and there are so many feminisms,
not just one.
You may not be my sister,
but let's at least be cousins.
If we can't roar, let's hum.
