"Pretty
Flower Petals"
I
bought you daffodils for Christmas,
We’d plant them near a tree
So when you looked outside
You’d fondly think of me.
And I would pull the weeds
To make a pretty flower bed,
Like we’d always talked about
Since the first day that we met.
But pretty flower petals
Fade away too soon,
And children always dream
Of flying to the moon.
And sunrise always starts off slow,
Before bursting in the sky,
And you will always be here
To hold me when I cry.
