"Innocent Prisoners"
Ladies and babies kept in cells
Sentenced to man-made hells
Innocent prisoners without crimes
Hidden, biding time
Society’s unfortunates, forgotten dears
Banished to numbness, empty tears
Humans, special creations
Damned by legal deprivation
Institutionalized, hungry for freedom
Wearing rags, eating crumbs
Mourning lives they can’t live
Grasping what little society gives
Empty bellies, weary hearts
Searching for new starts
A real home, out of the cold
Someone to offer hope Written
